A Ferme Auberge in the Vosges

A "Ferme Auberge" is farmhouse that doubles as a restaurant. The food served is, for the most part, raised on the farm or purchased from others nearby. The hiking paths of the Vosges mountains are sprinkled with Fermes Auberges, strategically placed to lure the hikers and bicyclists and motorcycle gangs.

Intro picture shows the gang enjoying a meal at the farmhouse. On the left are Wade Smith and Patrick Cobb. On the right are Cindy Eaton, Chris Hagan, and Jill Hagan. This was taken on August 20th and, to continue complaining, the temperature was about 64 degrees and it was raining. The specialties of this farm were duck and lamb and Munster cheese. Munster, though it tastes pretty good, is an especially stinky cheese when it is cooked. Sitting at the table, it was hard to tell whether the wind was blowing the smell of Munster from the kitchen or the smell of duck poop from the barnyard.

Photo below shows the ducks playing in yard. No doubt, these fellas will be on someone's plate before too long.
