Versailles - Part Deux: The Gardens

The gardens surrounding Versailles palaces cover acres and acres and acres. My first thought was a wish for a set of golf clubs and dozen balls. Second thought was ...Holy Cow, it must have taken an army to maintain these grounds. Grounds built for the sole purpose of giving the court royalty a place to play. Even now, charging vistors 20 euro a pop, it appears they can't really afford to maintain the entire gardens.

Just a few pictures to give a sampling. As you look at them, focus on the horizon. In a couple of cases, you will see the gardens going as far as the eye can see.
