A Tradition of Fine Woodcarving

On the way back home from the ferme auberge, we passed through the little mountain village of Le Hohwald. The town's name comes from Alsatian for "high forest". In fact, it is a village of woodcutters and lumber. The opening photo shows the wood carving that greets visitors to Le Hohwald.
