Quinéville

Quinéville is a small village on the Northmost edge of Utah beach. The town sports a small museum. Other than that, there is not much going on after the beachgoing vacationers leave in August.

We stopped for the night in Quinévilles, taking our chances at a small mom-n-pop hotel-restaurant. When we asked for rooms, they said all were full. Then, after some chatter they offered us a three bedroom apartment on the top floor. I'm not sure who normally lives in that apartment, but it was a nice enough place to spend the night.
The restaurant of the hotel was worth the visit. We got a couple of dozen oysters as appetizers. Katie became an oyster eater on this trip, as the picture below shows. For the main course Theresa and I took the marinated mussels (shown in the intro picture). Katie took a filet of fish in a cream sauce. Though the mussels were very good, Katie made the better choice. The fish was fantastic. Of course, roadkill would be fantastic if you smothered it in the same cream sauce.
The seafood paired nicely with the white wine recommended by the chef/deskman/bartender. (he did all three jobs). The wine was from the Quincy region of the Loire valley. The guy had picked it out himself on a trip to the region earlier in the spring. The fact that we liked it caused him to puff up with pride. I got the impression he was in the restaurant business for the satisfaction more than for the money.
