An Evening With George

Did you wonder what ever happened to George Michael? You know, the 80s pop star with the perfect hair who sang songs like Freedom and Father Figure and I Want Your Sex?? Well, he has become a cult figure to the gracefully aging children of the 80s. And he must have a new album out because he is on tour.

Gabi Vega is a child of the 80s and an absolute George Michael nut. She talked Theresa and Patrick Cobb into driving up to Mannheim, Germany to catch him in concert. You see, Patrick and even Theresa are children of the 80s too. The three of them together were obsessed. For weeks they looked forward to the concert. You would have thought it was the second coming of Elvis.
In the end it turned out to be a great concert for all of them. It almost turned into a disaster, though, because they were half-way to Mannheim before realizing that they didn't have the tickets. They had to drive all the way back to Strasbourg to find them in Gabi's apartment. Luckily, there was little traffic and no speed limit on the autobahn. And luckily Patrick races cars as a hobby. Lucky also that George started a little late. They made it into the stadium half-way through the first song.
