Windows and Balconies in Our Neighborhood

This post does not need a lot of commentary. It is just some random pictures of windows and balconies in our neighborhood.You see, the windows and balconies operate at several levels. First, they serve a functional need in that they allow for ventilation. But they are also the city-dweller's equivalent of a front porch: you visit with your neighbors through the windows and balconies. (Or perhaps you spy on your neighbors through from your windows and balconies.). Finally, they provide a place for the residents to grow flowers. Heaven knows that the Alsatians love to grow their flowers.
