Sentier Gourmand: Part Deux - The Scenery

In the previous post, the Sentier Gourmand might sound like a cakewalk. Understand this: We started at 12:30 and finished sometime after 6:00 pm. That's over 5 hours of seriously focused eating. In that time we probably walked 3 or 4 miles, half of it uphill. And in that time we probably consumed about 10,000 calories in food and wine.

The scenery, though, was beautiful. High on the hill above Scherwiller is the Château Ortenberg. This old castle in ruins served as the backdrop for the entire day. The intro picture is a close-up of the old castle. The following pictures show how the castle always seemed to be in the background where ever you looked.
