More Rouen

The city of Rouen is known for more than just it's cathedral. It has tons of other churches and public buildings. It also has tons old half-timbered houses. The half-timbered house is typical of both Alsace and Normandy, but the two regions differ slighly in style. The Norman house tends to more vertical timbers that are spaced more closely together. In Alsace, the houses are more in the German tradition with heavier timbers spaced farther apart with more diagonal bracing.

Intro picture is of Theresa and Katy standing on a street in Rouen with the old houses visible in the background. Middle picture is an example of a couple of the houses. Below is a picture of one of the architectural details on an old church. (I'm always a sucker for fountains involving urinating statues.)
